We survived Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene with pretty much no trouble. Our power did got out a couple of times during the night on Saturday, but miraculously it came back on each time.
I'd have to say the worst part was Henley deciding he had to go out four times during the rain but thankfully, not during the worst of it, which hit us evening and overnight. The kicker was, once we were out each time, he wasn't happy at all! We'd get out there and his ears would flatten a little and he'd walk, stop, shake. Walk, stop, shake and then look up at me like "Hey Ma, this sux!" Silly Shiba!
Above is a picture of how Henley spent most of his Saturday and Sunday. Only a Shiba could figure out how to snuggle and look out the window at the same time!
We do know how lucky we are that we sustained no damage, but a lot of people and pets did so keep your eyes open for ways you can help. Animal welfare organizations in your area could require extra help if they flooded or evacuated.
